The donkey and the wolf

LIKE many others in the world, there was a donkey. It skirted a ravine, laden with Malaga wine. (You know that donkeys are very afraid of wolves, because wolves are very fond of the flesh of donkeys.) While he was walking like this, he saw a wolf coming at some distance; he couldn't hide anywhere. The wolf approaches and the donkey says to him:

“Hello, hello, Mr Wolf; in case you are thirsty, I have an excellent Malaga to drink. »

" I am not thirsty ; No ! , but surprisingly hungry; Yes ! My dinner today will be your head and ears.

“M. Loup, if you would be kind enough to let me go and hear a mass ——? »

He said to her, “Well! Yes. »

Our ass goes then. When he enters the church, he closes the interior door with his foot, and stops there quietly.

When the wolf began to get impatient to wait, he said:

“Ay, ay, what a long mass! it looks like Palm Sunday. »

The donkey said to him:

“Dirty old wolf, be patient. I stay here with the angels, and I have my life (safe) for tonight. »

“Ay, ay, you bastard, you're too, too, dirty, you know. If you ever see me again, Mass you won't hear. »

The donkey said to him:

“There are no dogs around the Alagaia sheepfold; if you go there you will get a lot of sheep. »

The wolf gives up and heads for the herd where the donkey had told him to go. When the donkey saw that he was gone, he left the church and returned home, taking care not to approach the wolf's dwelling any more.
