come out of the Andrettho fountain, sit on the bank and bask in the sun. It\u2019s a very easy thing that you\u2019re ordering me to do\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And precipitately, Saint Peter begins:<br \/>\u2013 \u00bb our father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name\u2026 But, lord, will the horse be with or without a saddle? \u00bb<br \/>And Jesus:<br \/>\u2013 \u201cNow you will have neither saddle nor horse. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Les-cinq-sous-des-bohemiens\"><\/span>The five pennies of the gypsies<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>When the king of the Jews learned that Jesus had been born, he ordered his soldiers to put to death all the children in his kingdom under the age of two. The virgin mother and Joseph soon learned of this order and prepared to leave the country. But they had to go through a town and they didn&#039;t know how to hide the child from the soldiers. A gypsy woman was following the same route.<\/p>\n<p>She saw their embarrassment and said to them:<br \/>\u2013 \u201cPut the little one in my bisac, I will pass him under the soldiers\u2019 beards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The holy virgin thanked the gypsy and arranged, as best she could, the child in the bissac. The soldiers guarding the door let her pass without saying anything to her or to Joseph, but they arrested the gypsy.<br \/>\u2013 \u201cWhat are you hiding in your bissack, old naughty girl!\u201d \u00bb<br \/>\u2013 \u201cA child, my friends, the most beautiful in the world.\u201d<br \/>\u2013 \u201cIf you were carrying a child, you wouldn\u2019t say it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The soldiers were lined up on each side of the door and the child Jesus passed through their midst, in the gypsy&#039;s bag. To reward the gypsies for hiding the child Jesus from the king&#039;s soldiers, the good Lord allowed them to steal five sous a day.
