There are several versions of this character&#039;s story, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">legend<\/a> is a 19th century creation<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0century, he has since been considered the mythological father of the Galician nation. In all probability this legend was created in the Middle Ages, when there was already a great Christian tradition.<\/p>\n\n<p>According to Irish tradition, repeated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/book-libraries\/\">book<\/a> of the XI<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0century, the <em>Lebor Gab\u00e1la Erenn<\/em> (the <em>Book of Conquests<\/em>), which tells about the various invasions of Ireland, Breog\u00e1n is the name of a mythical Celtic king of Galicia.<\/p>\n\n<p>According to this legend, he built the Tower of Hercules (Torre de H\u00e9rcules) in La Coru\u00f1a. From which, still according to the legend, his son Ith sees Ireland and sets out to conquer it. Unfortunately, he is murdered.
