He wears brown deerskin leggings with<br \/>\nlong soft fringes on either side, and tiny beaded moccasins on his feet.<\/p>\n<p>His long black hair is parted in the middle and wrapped with red,<br \/>\nred bands. Each round braid hangs over a small brown ear and falls<br \/>\nforward over his shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>He even paints his funny face with red and yellow, and draws big<br \/>\nblack rings around his eyes. He wears a deerskin jacket, with bright<br \/>\ncolored beads sewed tightly on it. Iktomi dresses like a real <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/sioux-mythology-lakota-dakota-nakota\/\">Lakota<\/a><br \/>\nbrave. In truth, his paint and deerskins are the best part of him&#8211;if<br \/>\never dress is part of man or fairy.<\/p>\n<p>Iktomi is a wily fellow. His hands are always kept in mischief.<br \/>\nHe prefers to spread a snare rather than to earn the smallest thing<br \/>\nwith honest hunting. Why! he laughs outright with wide open mouth<br \/>\nwhen some simple folk are caught in a trap, sure and fast.<\/p>\n<p>He never dreams another lives so bright as he. Often his own conceit<br \/>\nleads him hard against the common sense of simpler people. Poor<br \/>\nIktomi cannot help being a little imp. And so long as he is a naughty<br \/>\nfairy, he cannot find a single friend.<\/p>\n<p>No one helps him when he is in trouble.
