href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">mythology<\/a> Georgian is made up of the belief systems of many cultures. The first myths go back to the Kartvelian peoples, whose first appearances are made in prehistory with the foundation of the kingdoms of Diauehi, Colchis and Iberia. That said, the consensus of scholarly opinion is that the proto-Kartvelians (perhaps to be identified with the Mushki) originated in ancient Anatolia, where their religious ideas are said to have come into contact with those of the Hattians, the Empire <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythology-hittite-798\/\">Hittite<\/a>, the Hurrians, <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/armenian-mythology\/\">Urartu<\/a> and Armenians.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Later influences include the <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">mythologies<\/a> of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-grecques-1664\/\">Greeks<\/a> ancients, Vainakh peoples and Iranians \u2013 the latter named including both the belief systems of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/scythian-mythology\/\">Scythians<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/scythian-mythology\/\">Sarmatians<\/a>\u00a0nomads of northern Iran (still preserved to some extent in the mythology of their descendants the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythology-ossete\/\">Ossetians<\/a>\u00a0) and the Old Kingdom Zoroastrian religion <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-de-perse-1542\/\">Persian<\/a>, who left such a lasting legacy among the nations of the Caucasus.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Georgian myths and legends are preserved mainly in the form of folk tales.
