The little we know about religion comes from the work of the historian and ethnographer <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-grecques-1664\/\">Greek<\/a> v<sup>e<\/sup> century Herodotus.<\/p>\n<p>It is assumed to be related to the oldest Proto-Indo-Iranian religion, and influenced later <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">mythologies<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-slaves-1648\/\">slavs<\/a>, Hungarian and <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-turques-1708\/\">Turkish<\/a>, as
