href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">mythology<\/a> Menominee includes the following Native American peoples: <strong>Menominee, Folles-Avoines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Menominee<\/strong> (called in French <strong>Folles-Avoines<\/strong>) are with the <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/northeast-woodlands-non-confedere-mythology\/\">Winnebagos<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythology-anichinabians\/\">Ojibway<\/a>, the original inhabitants of Wisconsin and northern Michigan. They dwelt in this region for over 5,000 years. Their existence began along the Menominee River, which today forms the border between Wisconsin and northern Michigan. Other Native American nations that occupied Wisconsin prior to 1600 were the Dakotas (<a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-siouans-2127\/\">Sioux<\/a>) in the northwest, the <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythology-illiniwek\/\">Illinois<\/a> in the south and the <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/cheyenne-arapaho-mythology\/\">Cheyennes<\/a> in the
