class="has-text-align-justify">Cervorix plucked the strings of an ivory lyre enriched with gold blades. This first epta cord was a gift from the Druidesses of Sena Island.

All was calm around the Bard: the water, the earth, the forest, as well as the bright vault of the sky dotted with stars. The disciples listened to the accents of the poet, who detailed to them the marvels of the firmament, making them admire the regular and continuous march of the stars, which roll in infinite space.

Suddenly the horizon darkens, thick clouds spread their veils over it, an impetuous wind begins to blow and shake the trees, while night birds flutter around the Bard's head. A sinister storm seems to be coming, as the dogs howl on the mountain. Then Cervorix disdainfully exclaims: “Man as matter is nothing but heavy vapors and fetid exhalations.

His corporeal envelope compresses the impulses of his soul and retains his best instincts, those, for example, which command him to leave the earth for a more fortunate home. What is life? Laugh! It is not the moment spent, the one that will pass, but the good use of time, which is important! Children of the Celtic, live in peace, think of eternity and tell everyone that you have seen and known the Bard Cervorix. »

Having thus spoken, he broke his lyre and from the heights of the rock on which he was standing, he rushed into the waves. It is to perpetuate his memory that the Druids call this waterfall the Saut de Cervorix, which has become the Saut de la Cervèze by corruption of the famous Barde.

The day after that sad day, a huge pyre decorated with flowers and covered with herbs was erected near a dolmen and at midnight, when the seven stars of the Big Dipper were reflected on the surface of the water contained in seven holes in the table of the Druidic altar, two ministers of Esus raising their hands to heaven, set fire to the pyre, after having addressed a sincere prayer to God.

The Druids, the Druidesse, a young virgin and a Bard walked around the pyre; one of the Druids threw down an amber goblet, the other an ivory lyre, the Druidesse her veil, the young girl a lock of her fair hair, finally the Bard, her saie as white as the lily of the valley.

Weep over this death, said the Druids to the people, it has been granted to your love; but forever sing the trait of courage and devotion of the Bard Cervorix! »

After the cremation ceremony, the Bard's ashes were placed in a colored glass urn, on which was enamelled this inscription:

" Deadly ! Learn where you come from, where you are going, look at this dust.
