href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">mythology<\/a> Hupa-Yurok-Wiyot brings together the following Native American peoples: <strong>Hupas, Hoopas, Yurok, Wiyot.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Hupas<\/strong> Where <strong>Hoopas<\/strong> are a Native American people of the Na-Den\u00e9 language family in northwest <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-hokanes-2062\/\">California<\/a>. The Hupas call themselves \u201cNa:tini-xwe\u201d which roughly means \u201cpeople on both sides of the path\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Hupas are one of the few Amerindian peoples who still live on their original territory. The Hupa Valley Preserve was established in 1864 and is the largest reserve in California. The Hupa in general lived peacefully with the neighboring peoples of the Wiyots, Yuroks and Wailakis, obtaining from them goods they did not own or could not make, such as salt or seashells.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Yuroks<\/strong> are a tribe of Native Americans from the west coast of the United States, who lived in northern California, the lower Klamath and the Pacific coast. They spoke a language, the Yurok, now almost extinct, of the group of languages <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-algiques-2118\/\">painful<\/a>. The name &quot;Yurok&quot; itself comes from <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/northern-hokane-mythology\/\">karok<\/a> neighbor and means &quot;going down the river&quot; or &quot;people from the bottom of the rivers&quot;. The people <strong>Wiyot<\/strong> are a Native American people of California who have lived in Humboldt Bay for 8,000 years.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5284
