href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/\">Mythology<\/a> of the Benin Delta brings together the following peoples and kingdoms of Central Africa: <strong>Edos, <\/strong><strong>Kingdom of Benin, <\/strong><strong>Urhobo, <\/strong><strong>Isoko, <\/strong><strong>Ijaw<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Edos<\/strong>\u00a0are a West African population living in south-central Nigeria, particularly in Edo State. Depending on the sources and the context, there are multiple forms: Addo, Benim, Benin, Bini, Binis, Do, Edos, Oviedo, Ovioba, Oviobo. The Edos are among the descendants of the kingdom of Benin.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>the\u00a0<strong>kingdom of benin<\/strong>, which lasted from the xii<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0century before its invasion by the British Empire in 1897, was a coastal West African state dominated by the Edos, an ethnic group whose dynasty still survives today.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The extent of the Kingdom varies with the times, but a compilation of European sources from the eighteenth<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0century indicates that it was limited to the west by the kingdom of Ardra whose capital was Allada (located in the current republic of Benin), to the south by the sea as well as the countries of Overry and Calabar.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Urhobo<\/strong>\u00a0are a West African population living in southern Nigeria, Delta State. Often farmers or fishermen, they are linked to the Edo, their neighbors.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Isoko<\/strong>\u00a0are a West African population living in southern Nigeria, in Delta State. They are linked to the Urhobo, their neighbors.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Ijaw<\/strong>\u00a0are a group of peoples of West Africa, mainly present in southern Nigeria, in the delta of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/en\/mythes-et-legendes-niger-congo-1949\/\">Niger<\/a>. At the beginning of the fifteenth<sup>e<\/sup>\u00a0century they will migrate further west of the continent to form the Kru peoples of C\u00f4te d&#039;Ivoire, Liberia, Guinea and Sierra
