El nombre de la Isla de Man est\u00e1 ligado a Manann\u00e1n mac Lir, dios celta del mar, que impuso un impuesto simb\u00f3lico a los isle\u00f1os, un manojo de toscos juncos como pantanos, hasta que lleg\u00f3 San Patricio para desterrar a los paganos.<\/p>\n<p>Durante siglos, el s\u00edmbolo de la isla ha sido un triskelion: tres piernas dobladas, cada una con un espol\u00f3n, unidas por el muslo. Las tres patas se reflejan en el lema de la isla (adoptado tarde en la historia del s\u00edmbolo): Quocunque Jeceris Stabit, que se traduce del lat\u00edn como &quot;Dondequiera que lances, permanecer\u00e1&quot;. El origen de las tres piernas del hombre se explica en el <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/\">leyenda<\/a> que Manannan se transformar\u00eda en tres patas y rodar\u00eda colina abajo.<\/p>\n<p>En el folclore de la Isla de Man hay muchas historias de criaturas y personajes m\u00edticos. Estos incluyen el Buggane, un esp\u00edritu mal\u00e9volo; el Fenodyree, a menudo \u00fatil pero impredecible; el Glashtyn, que puede ser un duende peludo o un caballo de agua; y Moddey Dhoo, un perro negro fantasmal.
