regum Britanniae est un manuscrit en latin r\u00e9dig\u00e9 entre 1135 et 1138, par l&rsquo;\u00e9crivain <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/mitologia-galesa\/\">gallois<\/a> Geoffroy de Monmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">C\u2019est une histoire l\u00e9gendaire des rois de l\u2019\u00eele de <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/mitologia-bretona\/\">Bretagne<\/a> (\u00ab Bretagne \u00bb d\u00e9signe ici l\u2019actuelle Grande-Bretagne et non la Bretagne armoricaine) depuis Brutus, le <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/\">mythe<\/a> fondateur, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 Cadwaladr. C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re apparition de personnages marquants tels Merlin, Uther Pendragon ou le roi Arthur. Proche de la chronique, le texte pr\u00e9sente la succession d\u2019une centaine de r\u00e8gnes avec des passages \u00e9piques. L\u2019auteur pr\u00e9tend que c\u2019est une traduction du Britannici sermonis liber vetustissimus, source dont l\u2019existence est fortement contest\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">L\u2019\u0153uvre eut un grand succ\u00e8s au Moyen \u00c2ge, puisque 215 manuscrits sont recens\u00e9s. Elle marque la naissance litt\u00e9raire de la <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/mitologia-bretona\/\">mati\u00e8re de Bretagne<\/a> et va avoir une influence d\u00e9terminante sur la <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/\">l\u00e9gende<\/a> arthurienne. Une adaptation en fran\u00e7ais est faite par le trouv\u00e8re normand Wace en 1155 titr\u00e9e Le roman de Brut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Le <a href=\"https:\/\/mythslegendes.com\/es\/bibliotecas-de-libros\/\">livre<\/a> commence par une d\u00e9dicace \u00e0 \u00c9tienne de Blois, roi d\u2019Angleterre et \u00e0 Robert, comte de Gloucester.
