The Arikaras or, as they prefer to call themselves, the Sahnishs, are a Native American tribe of farmers living in the Dakota North. Close to the Pawnees, they belong to the linguistic family of Caddos.
The Pawnees are a Native American people of Nebraska and Kansas (USA). Within the United States, they are the federally recognized entity of the Oklahoma Pawnee Nation. Historically, they lived in Nebraska and Kansas.
