There was a woman who had three daughters.
Un derviche vient lui demander sa fille aînée ; il l’emmène chez lui. Arrivé à la maison, il lui donne un morceau de viande crue et lui dit :
- You have to eat this piece of raw meat. If you eat it, you will be my wife. If you don't eat it, I'll strangle you and hang you at the well.
The girl says:
- I can't eat in front of you. Go outside, I'll eat it.
The dervish comes out. The girl puts the meat on the bottom of the oven.
Il rentre et demande :
- Alors, tu as mangé la viande ?
- Yes, I ate it said the girl.
Le derviche demande :
– Viande, où es-tu ?
Une voix répond :
– I'm at the bottom of the oven.
The dervish strangles the girl and goes to hang her at the well.
Puis il va trouver la cadette et dit :
- Your sister is sick. Come heal her, let her heal.
La fille suit le derviche ; ils arrivent chez lui.
- Listen, said the dervish, you are going to eat this piece of raw meat, if you don't eat it, I will strangle you like your sister, and I will hang you in the well.
The girl says:
– Va dehors, je le mangerai. Je ne peux pas manger devant toi.
Le derviche sort. La fille enfonce la viande dans un trou du mur. Le derviche revient et demande :
- Alors, tu as mangé la viande ?
- I ate it said the girl.
- Viande, où es-tu ? asks the dervish
- I am in the hole in the wall.
The dervish strangles the girl and hangs her in the well.
Puis il va trouver la benjamine et lui dit :
– Your sisters are sick, come and see.
The girl says:
