Tahitian Mythology - Gambier Islands

The mythology Tahitian – Gambier designates the myths and legends of Tahitian culture located on the Gambier Islands. Located in the northwest of the South Pacific Ocean, they are one of the five archipelagos of French Polynesia.

The set is made up of fourteen high islands, four of which are very small, as well as several coral islets anchored on the reef which surrounds a deep lagoon in which the high islands are placed. The islands were populated from XII^e century of our era.
