Takique-Cupane mythology

The Mythology Takique-Cupane brings together the following Amerindian peoples: Cahuilla, Cupeño, Luiseño, Juaneño

The Takic languages are all spoken in southern California. Archaeological research has led to the assumption that the ancestors of the Takiques have been established there for 3,500 years. The current geographical distribution of the Takic peoples dates back to 5 centuries. Takic languages are divided into two subgroups (Serran-gabrielino and Cupanes).
