ToggleLegend of Aïcha Bibi's love
In the Aisha Bibi village of the Jamby region 18 kilometers from the city of Taraz, there is a mausoleum of Aisha Bibi.
There are no authentic facts about the construction of the mausoleum. However, there is a Kazakh legend about Aisha Bibi's love for her husband.
Beautiful Aisha was the daughter of the famous rich man - Khakim-Ata. He was known as Zengy Baba, disciple of Akhmed Yassaui. Karakhan fell in love with 16-year-old Aisha at first sight. The wonderful Aisha also fell in love with Karakhan.
Aisha's father refused to give his daughter in marriage to Karakhan, who was a khan, but not so famous. The sad man has gone home, now it is the lands of modern Taraz. Aisha warned her mother Anuar, but didn't get her father's blessing, she left the house.
“You will ford six rivers, but you will not ford the seventh”, – called the father after Aisha. Aisha forded six rivers. She stopped in front of the seventh river, remembering her father's spell.
The father's curse had come true. The snakebite, crawled out of the stone, proved fatal. The dead beauty Aisha-Bibi was buried here. The guardian of the tomb became his inseparable nurse, friend - Babadja khatun.
Devotion to his mistress knew no bounds. So when Babadja died, she was buried nearby. Karakhan came too late. Shocked and heartbroken, Karakhan ordered to erect a mausoleum on the grave of his beautiful beloved, thus having inscribed the name of Aisha in eternity.
People say that Karakhan lived a long life. He had several wives, but their names are unknown. When Karakhan was dying, he ordered to bury him in such a place, from where Aisha's mausoleum could be seen.
For ten centuries, the Mausoleum of Karakhan and Aisha Bibi was the tallest building in Taraz.
The mausoleum itself looks very light and elegant. For more than eight centuries, it has stood despite the winds and bad weather, as a witness to great love.
Today, women come to the mausoleum and ask for marital happiness and motherhood. All the brides who have visited this place say that they have felt the unusual influence of this aura, which is reflected on the carved walls of the mausoleum. As legend has it, in ancient times sounds and voices from this building echoed at a distance of 50 to 100 meters.
It is considered that those who visit the Mausoleum of the “Eternal Bride” on the wedding day will live together for a long time and be happy.
