The mythology tahitian – Leeward designates the myths and legends Tahitians from the Leeward Islands. They are a group of islands that are part of the Society Islands, one of the five archipelagos of French Polynesia. The Leeward Islands lie northwest of the Windward Islands, the other group of Society Islands which includes Tahiti.
They consist of:
- five high (mountainous) islands: Bora-Bora, Huahine, Maupiti, Raiatea and Tahaa
- four atolls: Manuae, Maupihaa, Motu One and Tupai.
